So Delicious yet so Evil..

So Brian and I were spraying last night with a fancy lady by the name of Shannon.  She was kind enough to do much of the work on this stencil and then went another step in her awesomeness and made this little video to go along with it.  Brian and I are both of the opinion that we should start doing all our spray outs likes this from now on.  Let us know what you think!

Informal Commission

So I did this one up for someone and I think I like it better in low light then I do bright light.  Yet another logo from Mr. Unoriginal here, but it looks so sexy!  Any who, Brian and I should be posting again on here much more frequently.  Brian has been busy doing all sorts of fancy computer things so we will have a real website in the future!  Technology, next stop dinosaur robots, oh I can't wait.

Where is this logo from?

Yet another simple design that I finished up the other day.  I'm going to try all different color combinations but I am open to any suggestions.  Also I have developed a very severe addiction to this new hot sauce I bought.  I am only eating things that I can put it onto.  I might end up drinking it soon.

Things and stuff

So I have been working on new pieces all the time but forgetting to post things to the blog, whoops.  Brian has been doing a great job of putting new posts up, especially keeping people up to date with where our events are going to be and thanking all the great people who stopped by.

I am going to make sure to start posting all new ones that I finish to the blog again.  I would love to hear back from people about whether or not they like when I show each layer sprayed out or if folks just want to see the finished product.  Actually I think Brian and I would love to hear from people in general about what they think about the work and what we can do to make the site better for folks.

Anyways, on to the work.  I finished these a while ago and didn't get a chance to post them.  The first is a Monarch and Dr. Girlfriend from the Venture Brothers show.  The second is a good ol' Billy D or Lando if you prefer.  Thanks!

The Grimeist of Grimes

So Brian and I got a commission to do a portrait of Glenn from the Walking Dead TV series.  Brian took up the call to do that and it came out great!  From that point we decided to do a few more characters.  I started work on ol' Rick Grimes.  Brian came up with this background that I used.  After it was all said and done I feel like it would have almost looked best with just the black layer.  So I am going to go back and rework the grey layer so it won't suck so much.

Badger don't give no sh*ts!

So I have a totally awesome friend who I said that I was going to make a piece for and after putting it off for too long I have finally finished it.  I told her that I was just going to make a basic one and then she could choose what sorts of add-ons she wanted.  So expect to see this again.  And I give you the Honey Badger!

I also did a picture breakdown of the different layers.  The first pictures showed the badger on a blank background but I decided I didn't like how that one turned out so I added the black and red and started over.  I hope everyone enjoys!

Warcraft!

I know that it's a little past the prime of popularity I went ahead and made some World of Warcraft Horde and Alliance symbols.

Sprayathon!

Brian and I have been told another store will be putting up our work.  We are super excited and also low on pieces after our outing at HPB's comic day.  So that means SPRAYATHON!  I have been working on new pieces as well spraying out ones that sold out.  Through out the day I shall be posting the new ones.  It's going to be rip roarin good time!  That our the fumes are already getting to me!

Even in Russia Batman don't take no gruff.

So I had been promising to post some pictures of my attempt at a scene from the Superman: Red Son graphic novel.  This is comrade Batman punchin ol' Soviet Supes in the face.  There is also much more detail that can still be added but this is what I have come up with so far.  Usually I post a stage by stage shot of each layer of the stencils but I got a bit too excited and forgot to take pictures until the end.  I hope you all enjoy!

People don't suck! most of the time...

Thanks to everyone who came out to support us at our table at the Greenwood Half Price Books on Comic Day.  I have to double thank Brian for running the table by himself, but we all know he is the perfect frontspiece.  We had such a great turnout and hope to hear from all of you on our blog, either giving us crap or even commissions!  We spent a bunch of time getting ready for the show that we didn't really have a chance to make many new pieces, but oh baby.  Brian is pumpin things out like crazy and I am trying to keep up.  In the next couple days I will post a more extensive picture spread of Brian spraying out the Glen commission and put up a few pieces I have been working on too.

Variable Equations and other scary words!

So I haven't finished any new pieces yet, but before I can I needed to try and make some new stuff for the new table/event/outing that Brian and I have.  These pictures are some of the pieces that I have altered to try something new.  If anyone has any ideas of other ways to change things up let me know.  Or just let me know if anyone out there is reading this.

Come on get down with the sickness

I wish I had a new stencil to post up but sadly the sickness has been creeping on me.  I have had more free time and I have been working on a few new things that I hope to have posted soon.  A little Soviet Batman from Superman: Red Son and my first Arrested Development piece.  I am excited to get them done and show them off.  In other news Brian and I have another show coming up this Friday at the Half Price Books in Greenwood.  They are having a record store night Friday 4/19.  We will have a table set up from 9pm-midnight.  We hope to see you there!

We gots one!

Strange Brew coffee house has been kind enough to put up some of our work.  Brian hung it up before he went off to invade the fabled city of Pittsburgh.  Don't ask me why, he just likes to journey like in the TV show Kung Fu I think.  Anyways back to Strange Brew, they have taken some of our work and it shall be for sale there for a limited time.  I'm not sure how long, nobody tells me nothing.  If you are in Greenwood, IN then Strange Brew is the place for you.  Good coffee and food and great folks runnin the place!  Brian should be updating the blog soon with a link to the site, oh wait here we go...www.strangebrewcoffee.com

Ghost Rider

Ok Ok, I know you have all seen enough Skottie Young ripoffs but I couldn't help myself this time.  I have a thing for wonky Ghost Rider.  Besides this one was a simple three layer that was just begging to be done.

So I took the original image and broke it down into three parts: the flames(red/orange/yellow), skull and jacket detail(white), and then the black detail layer(black).

The first layer I sprayed out was the flames.  I used orange to start and then sprinkled in some yellow to give it a bit of a better look.

Then I sprayed just the white for his skull since I needed to have the black down to spray the rest of the white over.
Then came the black detail layer.  This left only the white layer over his jacket to be sprayed.

At the bottom is the finished product of this test spray.  I still have to pick out a suitable background.  All in all I feel it came out pretty well.  I hope it's enjoyed!

One Down!

So we had our first booth over this past weekend and took some pictures.  The Half Price Books Outlet store in Bloomington, IN was kind enough to have us.  We got there Saturday around noon and were there until about six thirty.

The booth was perfect for our setup and the pictures will hopefully show how nice it was.  The unfortunate part was there was not many customers who showed interest in our wares.  We put our heads down and powered through so that we could do our duty to get the ol' Funke name out there.  We hope to be back next month and maybe we will bring a Wacky Waving Arm Inflatable Tube Man.
